Haramain High-Speed Railway Overview
The Haramain High-Speed Railway (HHR) is a passenger railway line connecting the Mecca and Medina provinces in western Saudi Arabia. The 449.2-kilometer (279.1-mile) main line directly links the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina, passing through Jeddah and the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). A 3.75-kilometer (2.33-mile) branch line connects to the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The railway began public operations on October 11, 2018
